SES-5 - launch success

BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, July 10, 2012



The ILS Proton/Breeze-M launched from Pad 24 at 12:38 a.m. today local time (2:38 p.m. EDT, 18:38 GMT on July 9) has successfully delivered SES-5 satellite to a geostationary transfer orbit. Built by Space Systems/Loral and based on the flight-proven SS/L 1300 platform the satellite has separated exactly after 9 hours, 12 minutes mission.

Arianespace with its third Ariane 5 mission of 2012 has successfully delivered the mixed payload of telecommunications (Echostar XVII) and meteorological (MSG-3) spacecrafts into geostationary transfer orbit during a 34-minute flight.

Orbital to construct Amazonas 4A and 4B

HISPASAT and Orbital Sciences Corporation signed a contract for the construction of two new satellites, Amazonas 4A and Amazonas 4B that will be located at orbital position 61 West longitude.

IAI to build Amos 6

Spacecom Satellite Communications' board of director has authorized management to sign a $200 million contract with Israel Aerospace Industries Ltd. (IAI) to build the Amos 6 communications satellite. The satellite is planned for launch in 2015.

ILS proton to launch Asiasat satellite

Reston, Va. / Hong Kong, 22 June 2012 – International Launch Services (ILS) and Asia Satellite Telecommunications Co. Ltd. (AsiaSat) announced a contract today for an ILS Proton launch to launch one of AsiaSat’s future satellites, AsiaSat 6, AsiaSat 8 or AsiaSat 9 to replace its AsiaSat 4 satellite. The launch contract includes an option for AsiaSat to order one additional launch service from ILS for any of its upcoming three satellites.
