Intelsat 18 - launch sucess

Luxembourg, 5 October 2011



 

Intelsat S.A. announced today that a Sea Launch AG-provided Zenit-3SLB vehicle successfully lifted the Intelsat 18 satellite from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan at 5 p.m. EDT (21:00 GMT). The signal was acquired at 11:34 p.m. EDT (03:34 GMT) and after 6 hours and 35 minutes mission the satellite was deployed at its final GTO destination orbit of 5,517.6 X 35,785.2 kilometers X 19.5 degrees inclination. Built by Orbital Sciences Corporation, Intelsat 18 launch mass is 3200 kg with a useful life of nearly 17 years. It will replace Intelsat 701 at 180ºE and will provide Ku-band and C-band capacity to Pacific Ocean Region.

Astrium to build Eutelsat 9B

Eutelsat Communications (Euronext Paris: ELT) has announced today that Astrium has been selected to build the new high-power EUTELSAT 9B broadcast satellite addressing high-growth video markets in Europe. It is planned to be launched at the end of 2014 and located at Eutelsat’s 9°E orbital position.

Quetzsat 1 launched successfully

BAIKONUR COSMODROME, Kazakhstan, September 30, 2011



The ILS Proton Breeze M launched from Pad 39 at the Cosmodrome at 12:32 a.m. today local time (2:32 p.m. EST, 18:32 GMT on September 29) has successfully carried the QuetzSat-1 satellite into geostationary transfer orbit for SES of Luxembourg after a 9 hour, 13-minute mission. This was the 19th SES satellite launched on ILS Proton.

Atlantic Bird 7 - Launch Success

BERN, Switzerland, September 24, 2011



Sea Launch AG's Zenit-3SL rocket has successfully launched the ATLANTIC BIRD™ 7 broadcast satellite from the ocean-based Odyssey Launch Platform. It is the first Sea Launch mission after its return to launch operations following re-organization in late 2010.
